Rotary Plow Tunnel
A new construction tunnel, over a quarter mile long, was built for transporting coal from storage to a power plant, and required a waterproofing system around its membrane.
JWTX was selected to install Bentonite sheets with a proprietary, stitched surface around the tunnel to keep out water, as well as make it chemical resistant. These sheets are a cost effective and efficient system for waterproofing, as well as providing extremely low permeability for water vapor and gas transmissions.
JWTX successfully completed the project in year, with the installation process consisting of the pre-placement of sheets, working with mud slabs, continuously up peers and beams; all the way up to the surface.
